Satin, Linen or Knit? A No-Nonsense Fabric Guide

Satin, linen and knit fabrics side by side

Fabric decides how a piece feels at hour one and how it looks at wash twenty. Before you buy anything, know what you're buying into.

Satin: for the evenings that matter

Satin catches light the way nothing else does — it's why every red carpet is full of it. It drapes close, elevates instantly, and asks only one thing: a cold, gentle wash and a hanger, never a dryer.

Linen: for the heat

Linen is the most breathable natural fiber you can wear. Yes, it creases — that's the point. A little rumple reads relaxed and expensive at once. Machine wash cold, air dry, done.

Knit: for real life

Knits move with you, forgive a long dinner, and come out of a suitcase looking exactly like they went in. If your week involves actual living, you need more of them than you own.

Our rule at the studio

Match the fabric to the moment, not the trend. Then check the care label — before the first wash, not after. Every Nexalift garment ships with care instructions stitched in.
